We first met Rick and Soozie as a newly-wed, PhD student and spouse at Yale. They must have seen that we were clueless and a bit lost as they quickly took us under their wings, opened their home, hearts and ears to us, prayed and cried with us through all our trials and turmoils. They led a marriage focussed bible study for a number of young couples, which laid a strong foundation for our own marriage. I was particularly impressed and challenged by Rick’s gentleness, wisdom and his evident love of his wife and family. He was rigorous in his thinking, yet completely humble before God. He greeted each and every person he met with a warm smile, hug and a keen sense of humour. We will miss him dearly on earth, but look forward to seeing him again in glory.
